Es steht im Internet und muss wahr sein!
Ich habe letztends gelesen, dass niemand auf dem Mond war und sich die Erde garnicht so schnell bewegen kann wie diese doofen Wissenschaftler immer behaupten. Weil ich stehe ja auf der Erde. Die bewegt sich ja OFFENSICHTLICH überhaupt. Also ist das auch alles Murks mit den Weltraum.
Ach, entschuldigt, das eigentliche Thema war ja Klimaleugner. Ja, ich find Klima doof, im Sommer ist es zu warm und im Winter zu kalt. Das schlägt sich direkt auf meine Haushaltskosten durch. Am besten wäre, wenn es immer 20 Grad ist, dann bin ich glücklich.
Das darf ja mal gesagt werden! Schließlich steht es im INTERNET!

Well hello guys,
over the year since the last news a lot of stuff happened. No pictures for today but just an information round up for this blog.
First of all we made a launcher for the game. It handles the update process and displays the latest changes of the launcher and the game itself.
Speaking of the game: We've dropped a Developer Preview Alpha for Family & Friends - the good old Blizzard way. There have been several updates already to that version and after the latest rebuild of the render and lighting engine (we are pretty damn fast now :D) we've upped the version from 0.0.0.4 to 0.1.0.0 even!
Which means we are a step closer to finally getting content into the game.
For now that should be it. See ya son. :D

Hello Peeps,
as always, there is always some stuff going under the hood. But we also have to show off something today :)
There is for once slopes, half steps and stairs. Yes you heard right: Slopes :D And half steps. And stairs. SLOPES! For all your roof building needs.
Also we've switched from the Nifty GUI libs to a GUI made by t0neg0d which - so far - looks quite promising.
Besides all the reworking and enhancing there has also been an upgrade to the Chunk height limit which is now 256 blocks :D Enough room for everyone for the moment. But subject to change once we figure out a way to have some kind of dynamic height.
Oh and before i forgot: The world is nearly without limits - somewhere around 150 to 200 million meters :)
And the last thing covers items! You can now create items in the world like a chair or a table or stuff that you'll be able to come up with! :) For now a chair has to serve as example.

Greetings!
Today we haven't much to share - as always when you're working under the hood.
The most notable changes are the nameplates over the heads of the players and animals.
And a smaller but none the less useful feature is the chathistory that pops up after you connect to the server. So server admins can have a clear overview of what was going on and you may not miss out anything when your connection gets lost for a second :D

Servus and hello.
Today we have quite a lot to show. Yes, we got multiplayer running. Literally. :D
The model is still pretty basic and just exists for demoing purposes and implementing basic multiplayer stuff. On the other side there is a lot interpolation when the players move. This has been done to reduce the amount data being sent because syncing every little step you do can be quite painful for network latency.
On the shader front there has been added quite some fancy stuff. Thanks to the DDS plugin we are able to load our textures as DDS files which openes up normalmapping as well as parallax mapping and offset mapping. Also the files got smaller in terms of disk usage and ram usage.
Well. It's just amazing stuff. You know. :)
This also allowed us to replace the textures of sand, lamp, both stones, wood and leaves with high resolution DDS textures. But if you want them to be low resolution there will be an ingame slider to control them. At runtime. :D
Also we've done the first steps on our UI using Nifty GUI. So far it consists of the Options menu and a basic Main Menu. The colors are still to be defined ... or refined. But so far it is looking pretty good. I'd guess. Yep.
But that's far from complete. We are still working on the inventory and some chat functionality.

We can't show off stuff this time other then the recently added console. It's nothing fancy but it will do its supposed job :)
Also we are working hard on getting Multiplayer up and running. Stay tuned.
Latest News 2013/02/19
First thing is our biggest thing: Static lighting is pretty finished now :) We spent quite some time on it to make it the perfect and prettiest lightning in blocky worlds. No black spots :D.
Next up will be dynamic lighting in caves so you can see ores getting a different highlight than the surrounding stone.
Besides that to be able to find ores the ores themself are now generated into the world. Not balanced yet though :D
In one of our older snapshots we also deformed the terrain on dropoffs. Might be cool looking. Heck i like it!
Last but not least our latest change: Mixable texture sizes! You can throw in a 16px * 16px texture next to one 256px * 256px texture. Both will show up pretty nicely :)
